David Robert Joseph Beckham was born on the second of May, 1975. His parents, David and Sandra, raised the future superstar in Leytonstone town, to the northeast of London. David the younger’s soccer (football) prowess was evident from an extremely early age, and at the age of eight he joined the Ridgeway Rovers club. David went on to score more than 100 goals in his three years on the junior team, an extraordinary feat. At the age of 11, David won the Bobby Charlton Soccer Skills Tournament, a nationwide talent and skill competition. Not too shabby considering young David won by the highest score in the tournament’s history, and he won it in the Old Trafford, the home stadium of David’s (and his family’s) beloved Manchester United team. David won a two week training trip to Barcelona Spain where he trained at the FC Barcelona complex, years later David would be a star for FC Barca's greatest rivals Real Madrid, after ruling the roost at Manchester United.
